Rebbe Baruch Shalom Ashlag would travel to Meron each year on Lag B’Omer. When he would arrive at the holy tzion (resting place) of Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai, he would remain there for about 30 seconds, with closed eyes and then depart.
Once, one of those close to him asked him to explain his behavior. Rebbe Baruch Shalom answered:
“There are people that do not prepare themselves at all before going up to the tzion. Only when they arrive at the tzion, they begin to think about their situation and what they truly need to request. Then they begin to remember all their needs and problems. This takes a long time.
On the other hand, there are those that arrive to the tzion after preparation and contemplation. They already know that in truth they only lack one thing. And, this is possible to request in 30 seconds.”
