עוד יוסף חי – Devorim 11:26 “ראה אנכי נותן לפניכם היום, ברכה וקללה”
It is known that Shabbos Kodesh is called, “היום.” Shabbos 117b – Shemos 16:25 “אכלוהו היום כי שבת היום לד' היום לא תמצאוהו ” – The Posuk says the word, “היום” three times as a Remez to the three Seudos that one must eat on Shabbos Kodesh, which brings much Brocha to all the days of the week, as it says in the Yalkut Shimoni; Mishlei 10 – 947 – “ברכת ד' תעשיר” – this refers to Shabbos. There is much Brocha which comes from Shabbos for those who heed Shabbos, however to those who desecrate Shabbos, it brings much Klalah to themselves and to the world, as the Arizal says in Sha’ar Hakavonos on the Posuk, “מחלליה מות יומת.” It says in Bereishis Rabbah 11:8 – Shabbos said to Hakodosh Boruch Hu: Ribbono Shel Olam – to all the days of the week You gave a partner, but to me You did not give a partner. (There are six other days of the week, and each day partners with another day – Shabbos is the last day of the week, and there are no days left for it to partner with). Hakodosh Boruch Hu answered Shabbos that Klal Yisroel would be its partner. Before the letter of, “ישראל” are the letters, “שבתכם” – for they are partners (they are the letters before when the Aleph Bais is looked at from the other side – תשר"ק). “ראה אנכי נותן לפניכם היום” – See what is, “לפניכם” – before the letters of, “ישראל” – “שבתכם” – which is “היום.” The Posuk is telling us that we must recognize that Shabbos is our partner, we are considered like one. Shabbos being connected to Klal Yisroel is a Brocha for those who heed it, and a Klalah to those who desecrate it. Therefore, the Torah is telling us to be exceedingly careful with the laws of Shabbos.
