What is a Treife: חֲמור donkey getting involved in our holy Korbanos of Kedushas Bechor? And if you have to redeem him with a: שֶה sheep, why not just give a: שֶה sheep?

Obviously, a: חֲמור donkey has lots of value to us. (see Rashi). A חֲמור donkey is actually a symbol of: חוּמְ רִ יוּ ת physicality and Gashmiyus, and according to the Maharal it is a very simple and stupid animal at that.
A person actually needs Gashmiyus; like good food, marriage, and some Geshmake schmoozing and relaxing. This can help his Ruchaniyus tremendously, and mainly people don’t succeed since they want only Ruchani, and they do extreme things like fasting, and they destroy themselves, Chas V’shalom. Chazal were against Ben Azzai who didn’t get married, despite his tremendous love for Torah.
