"When a person does a sin, he has already an investment in kefira (heresy). It makes you more and more interested that the emunah (faith) shouldn’t be true, because then Gehinom (purgatory) is waiting for you. When a man does a mitzvah, every mitzvah makes him have an invested interest in emunah. Now he wants to believe in Olam Haba (the World to Come)."

— Rabbi Avigdor Miller (Chanukah #148)
