Lost Torah Commentary Found

The Parsha Post | June 25, 2025

The comprehensive commentary on the Book of Devarim written by the prolific rabbi Don Yitzchak Abarbanel was recently discovered on the Greek island of Corfu. The manuscript was around 20 years ago, when the rabbi was living in Portugal, where he had served as treasurer to Alfonso V, king of Portugal.

“I was filled with joy and happiness as I held and kissed my precious work,” said the rabbi with delight, as he wrote an introduction to the newly discovered work. “This amazing turn of events has inspired me to write commentaries on the first four books of the Torah as well.”
