Just as Amalek is the root of evil and sin, so too the gateway to sin and wrongdoing is this matter of “two weights” and “two measures.” The spiritual meaning of this is that a person maintains two systems of judgment and measurement.
In material and bodily matters, his attitude is that he is never satisfied with what he has already acquired, and he constantly strives for more, as expressed in the saying: “One who has a hundred desires two hundred.” By contrast, in matters of the soul he employs a different set of weights – here he is “satisfied with little,” content with the bare minimum.
