Why do we need to eat and drink again and again?
One of the reasons is that we make a blessing when we eat or drink, revealing G-d’s honor in the world. Since G-d constantly creates the world anew, every time we say a blessing we are revealing the honor of G-d in the new creation that He has made. For example, when we say the blessing on water, “...that everything came to be by His word,” we reveal the word of G-d in all of creation, and when we say a blessing later on another drink of water, we reveal G-d’s new word by which He has created everything in the world anew now. And similarly with the blessing on wine and grape juice, “...Creator of the fruit of the vine,” we reveal the new word of G-d by which He has created all the “fruit of the vine” in the world anew.
