Corruption Before Hashem

א''יפ ו"פ תישארב :סָמָח ץֶרָאָה אֵלָמִּתַּו םיִק˄ֱאָה יֵנְפִל ץֶרָאָה תֵחָשִּׁתַּו
The earth also was corrupt before Hashem, and the earth was filled with violence. {6:11}
When people are “corrupt before Hashem”; i.e. corrupt in their relationship with Hashem, lacking fear of Hashem, the earth will be ‘‘filled with violence” between people, for where there is no fear of Hashem, there also can be no honesty.
