When We Forget How Much the Ribbono shel Olam Cares for Us
The same thing plays out, l’havdil, in our relationship with the Ribbono shel Olam. This Yid has so much good in his life, but he doesn’t live with the awareness that “the Ribbono shel Olam has given the good to me, and He cares for me constantly.”
A Yid goes shopping for Shabbos for his large family... he buys and orders, but he doesn’t feel that the Ribbono shel Olam had him in mind and enabled him to make these purchases. He left that last bottle of milk in the refrigerator just for you, because He knows that you always pull in late... and there are myriads of Hashgachah Pratis instances that happen just like this. But since he doesn’t live with this awareness, he feels abandoned and heavy hearted: “Everyone’s moving forward in life; only I remain back....”
