Reshimas Hayoman p. 149
5689-1928, three weeks after marrying Rebbetzin Chaya Mushka, the Rebbe began to document anecdotes, customs and guidance that he heard from his new father-in-law, the Previous Rebbe, many of which had been transmitted through the generations of Chabad leaders, from one Rebbe to the next. The Rebbe continued to write in this journal over the next fifteen years. After his passing, the extraordinary collection was discovered and published as Reshimat Hayoman.

Torat Menachem 5748 vol. 2 p. 170
5748-1987, marking 500 years from the birth of Rabbi Yosef Karo — the author of the Code of Jewish Law — the Rebbe called for an increase in the study of all his classic works. The Rebbe recognized that Jews of sefardic tradition in Israel were already marking the special jubilee and called for others to emulate them.
