There Are No Barriers between the King and His Son

Similarly, Rebbe Nachman tells a parable in the name of the Baal Shem Tov (Likutei Mohoran II, 46): A king placed a great treasure in a certain location and created an illusion of several walls surrounding the treasure. When people reached these walls, it appeared to them that they were real walls that were difficult to break. Some turned back immediately; some broke one wall and came to the second, but they couldn't break it; some broke more but couldn't break the rest. Finally, the king's son arrived and said: 'I know that all these walls are just an illusion, and in truth, there is no wall at all!' He walked forward with confidence until he passed through them all.

The most important thing in life is to strengthen ourselves to realize that we are the King's son. The klipos want to push us completely outside the circles around the realm of kedushah so that we forget our true identity. Because of this, we often initially approach the pursuit of the treasure of kedushah with suspicion, analyzing whether we have the power to achieve it or not. Some people put in an effort and get past this stage, but then they turn back when they face a larger obstacle. However, when we know with certainty that we are the King's son, we rely completely on our Father, and we are confident that He will not hold back any good from us. We realize that, without any doubt, the obstacles are just an illusion—they are not real at all!
