Torah Ohr: The following is a snippet of what is written in Torah Ohr in explaining the inner dimension of the latter part of the Possuk from Shir HaShirim (8:7):
“Many waters cannot quench the love, nor can rivers flood it; should a man give all the wealth of his house for love, they would despise him.”
When the Possuk says בֵּיתוֹ which means “His house” this symbolises the state of חָכְמָה - wisdom as the Possuk states (Mishley 24:3) בְחָכְמָה יִבָנֶה בָיִת וּבִתְבוּנָה יִתְכוֹנָן “A house is built with wisdom, and it is established with understanding”. When the possuk states הוֹן בֵּיתוֹ – “The wealth of his house” This symbolises the inner dimension of wisdom which in this context refers to the inner reasons for the Torah which are the states of the upper Gan Eden and the lower Gan Eden. When the Possuk states אִם יִתֵּן אִישׁ - “if a man shall give” the man symbolises the warrior. A state of ‘wisdom’ basks in the ray of the Divine-presence in a state of understanding. But it is all just a ray and an illumination and this is all via the warrior which symbolises the many contractions until the ‘wisdom’ can be a ray of the Divine-presence. But the love is the concept of (Tehilim 73:25) וְעִמְךָ לֹא חָפַצְתִי בָאָרֶץ I desired no one with You on earth but to be incorporated within you. This is the idea of him to the level of “We have a little sister” this is the concept of unity ‘Achosi’ which is a very high spiritual level.
This means that even beyond the love of בְכָל מְאֹדֶך there are several levels. So, in addition to the fact that serving HaShem without receiving a reward of the world to come or the upper Gan Eden ‘just with you’ in HaShem’s very essence blessed be He and how can one draw HaShem’s essence through doing Mitzvos.... And this is the meaning of the words: “should a man give all the wealth of his house” which is the upper and lower Gan Eden the state of wisdom the reasons of the Torah then he makes light of it because it is only just a ray of light but in love I desired no one with You ... HaShem but not Your attributes, to HaShem’s very essence Blessed be He.
Brings him to the level of: Self nullification of a higher level of commitment and connection to HaShem which is the commitment of אָּחוֹת The very next Possuk in Shir HaShirim (8:8) states: אָּחוֹת לָּנוּ קְטַנָּה וְשָּׁדַיִם אֵּין לָּהּ מַה נַעֲשֶה לַאֲחֹתֵּנוּ בַּיוֹם שֶׁיְדֻבַּר בָּּהּ “We have a little sister who has no breasts; what shall we do for our sister on the day she is spoken for”. The word אָּחוֹת which generally means sister is associated with the word מְאֻחֶה meaning to stitch up as in when a garment is torn in needs to be sewn up. So אָּ חוֹת is מְאֻחֶה meaning to stitch so אָּחוֹת symbolises a tight knit connection which is the connection of Yidden with HaShem.
Concept of Unity
Of the Jew who is serving HaShem with G-dliness on a very high level of ‘sister’.
בְכָל מְאֹדֶך: Which is a love beyond one’s usual limitation as the Possuk states: “If a man should give all the wealth of his house for love” as mentioned above. But אָּחוֹת is an even greater connection.
As a result of the ‘Mayim Rabim’ one can come to the love of בְכָל מְאֹדֶך as mentioned earlier but one can also come to the level of ‘my sister’.
Until we come to that which is written at the end of the Possuk בַּיּוֹםָשֶיְּׁדֻבַּרָבּ הּ “On the day She is spoken for” that it will speak automatically and by itself, that the aspect in prayer is the level of ה׳ָשְׁפ תַיָתִפְׁת חָוּפִיָיַגִידָָ תְׁהִל תֶךָ “HaShem You shall open my lips, and (Only) my mouth will recite (And draw down your) Your praise”
My Sister: Which is Even Higher Than the Level of בְכָּל מְאֹדֶך
The day that she is spoken for: Normally this would mean the day on which she finds a Shidduch but here the Maamor is highlighting a level of ‘Bittul’ – self nullification that she is spoken for - almost talking by itself which is an even higher level of self-nullification. A higher level than giving away all of the wealth in Bechol Meodecho.
The Aspect of Automatically Talking
Level of: That which the Possuk states (Tehilim 51:17) שְפָּתַי תִפְתָּח ה׳ וּפִי יַגִיד תְהִלָּתֶךָ HaShem You shall open my lips, and my mouth will recite Your praise.
Your praise: Automatically as a result of HaShem opening my lips, where I am not in control but HaShem is controlling me.
