Therefore, the closer we come to these tzaddikim and the more we believe in their ways, the more we can connect to the chiyus of the hidden Torah. Even when we’re not able to study and we’re involved in mundane activities, we can feel the same satisfaction and illumination as we do when we learn Torah.
By strengthening our emunah that there are tzaddikim who serve Hashem and make incredible spiritual unifications even as they do simple acts in this world, we realize that there is clearly no place for despair. On the contrary, we renew our awareness that Hashem is everywhere and in everything, so it is always possible to be close to Him.
Through this, we can attach ourselves to Hashem with simplicity as we eat, work, take care of our homes, and so on. We can have simple yiras Shamayim and feel the joy of being Jews. Even if we don’t understand the details and deeper meaning of the Torah that is in all Creation, we can live with the general emunah that amazing things happen in every area of life. We just don’t have the ability to see these wonders since the letters of the Torah are hidden from us.
To conclude, we must be very careful not to analyze this reality too much, since this will only damage our emunah and cause us to lose our chiyus, through which we won’t feel close to Hashem during the many situations in which we’re unable to study Torah. Rather, we should follow this path of the tzaddikim with simplicity, which will attach us to Hashem at all times and enable us to return quickly to learning Torah whenever we have the opportunity.
