The letter ‘Yud’ of the holy Tetragrammaton, the Divine name of Havaye, and just as in ‘Yiroh’ itself there is a lower form of ‘Yiroh’ and a higher form of ‘Yiroh’, so too in the letter ‘Yud’ there is a lower form of ‘Yud’ and a higher form of ‘Yud’. However, the lower form of fear which parallels the lower form of the letter ‘Yud’, is on a lower spiritual rank than the upper form of fear which parallels the lower form of the letter ‘Yud’, but the internal point of the lower form of fear is the state of the upper Yud, the upper Yiroh.
נא יִרְ אָּה עִילָּאָּה: It transpires that at the depth of יִרְׁ אָּה תַתָּאָּה (the lower tier of ‘fear of heaven’), exists in essence, יִרְׁ אָּה עִילָּאָּה (the upper tier of ‘fear of heaven’), and therefore יִרְׁ אָּה תַתָּאָּה is the root for all levels.
The Ultimate Intention and Purpose of Creation
The Medrash says: Tanchumah (Nosso 16) This text is related (Shir HaShirim 5:1), “When I come to my garden, my sister bride.” R. Samuel bar Nachman said, “When HaKodosh Boruch Hu created the world, He longed to have an abode below just as He had on high.
Dwelling in the Lower Realms: That HaShem’s intention was specifically that this lowly world would be a suitable receptacle for the Divine presence to rest. When one studies Torah he thus purifies the environment around him and when one performs Mitzvos one thus elevates the objects that the Mitzvah is being done with as well as the environment in which one is doing the Mitzvah. Conversely, when one transgresses a prohibition one pushes away the Divine presence. But, when one carries out HaShem’s will one thus prepares for the resting of the Divine presence.
Carries through to all aspects: Just as with a physical material dwelling, it is not good enough that it should be generally habitable, but every detail needs to be appropriate, and suitable to fulfil its designation, so too in making this world into a dwelling place for G-dliness.
Just not enough: The fact that all the ranks are rooted in the very very bottom, and specifically the very bottom is the most important.
Avodah: Man’s service of HaShem.
To me a head: And the head is much more exalted and beyond comparison to the heel. The name Yisroel is much more exalted than the name Yaakov.
