Rav Yissocher Dov Berish was a scion of the Zidatshuv Dynasty. He was the son of Rav Yehosha Heschel of Chodorov and the son-in-law of Rav Nachum Gottleib of Ludmir, a scion of Rav Shlomo of Karlin.He held court as rebbe in Chodorov for decades. His son Rav Yehoshua Heschel of Chodorov succeeded him. Several of his responsa are extant in collections of Shu”t.He passed away on the 8th of Elul, 1918) תרע"ח) and was laid to rest on Chodorov.
