We must understand a simple yesod. When Hashem commands us to do hishtadlus for parnassah, we are accustomed to saying that we do the hishtadlus in one place, and the yeshuah comes from wherever Hashem wishes to send it. If so, one may think, what is the point of doing hishtadlus at all, as the salvation will come from another place. They tend to explain it that we must do hishtadlus, because we can’t rely on a neis....
But according to what we have explained, it’s far simpler. We must do hishtadlus because we must do actions in the העשיה, עולם our world of deed, in a way that Hashem wants, in order to infuse This World with G-dliness, to illustrate that gashmiyus is really ruchniyus. Everything is Torah, only it is covered over with a material façade.
