Medrash of Parshas Terumoh
The Beis Aharon ZY"A said to Reb Yisroel Ber of Teveria ZT"L, "I make you a Shliach Mitzvoh (messenger) to tell the Yungerleit (young men) that if they learn the Medrash of Parshas Terumoh, through learning it they can become a Chossid." One may say I am already a Chossid, or I am a Baal Mussar, too old already or not learned. To this we must say two answers. Firstly, as I heard from my Father Shlit"a, the Rashab ZY"A said, one who does not learn Chasiduss is a "Tzo'ah Fabric – a waste machine", as he does not produce or accomplish besides for the waste that he eliminates. If one says, "I am a Baal Mussar”, he too is accomplishing. As Rav Chaim Epstein ZY"A said in a Shmuess in Beth Medrash Govoha, “Every person must learn Mussar or Chasiduss, otherwise his Torah may not be appropriate”. Rav Chaim Shmuelevitz ZY"A, compared the learning of Mussar to the Gemoroh in Mesechtas Shabbos (31:1), one who stored his grain in the attic but did not add the "Kav chomtin", as a preservative, the onlooker told "Rather you had not stored it, as it will not survive."
Rav Matisyohu Salomon ZY”A was Maspid Reb Abba Friedman ZT"L, veteran Marbitz Torah in Detroit and Talmid of Reb Shraga Feivel Mendolovich ZT"L, "He was always in a situation of learning, of being Mechunoch". One does not graduate of being educated, striving, and learning Torah and Avodas Hashem. Hence every person regardless of their age, ability, knowledge etc..., can attain great levels of practice of Torah and Mitzvos. This will escort him internally and externally for eternity, to greet the Go’el Tzedek and to Chayei Olom Habboh – The World to Come.
My Rebbe Reb Rafoel Green ZY”A would say a story of someone who was in Chinuch, he came to Rav Moshe Feinstein with the claim that he was already “Yotzeh” [fulfilled] his Chie’uv [obligation] of Chinuch. Rav Moshe answered, “One is never Yotzeh his Chie’uv of Chinuch.”
