It has been suggested that the Egyptians, who believed in numerous deities, shaped their bread to have as many sides as the powers they believed in. If they believed in three deities, a triangle; for four, a square, and so on. The Jewish people were therefore careful to keep their matzah round.

In fact, Passover is known as the holiday we celebrate to strengthen our faith in G-d Almighty.

With all this in mind, we can better appreciate the Zohar, which calls the Seder matzah “bread of faith” and “bread of healing.”
