One Who Acts Like a Tzadik Will Become a Tzadik

The Way of Emunah | January 20, 2026

The Gemara states that if someone who is not crippled, blind or deaf pretends to be one of those things, he will ultimately become what he pretended to be, as is stated “Tzedek, tzedek tirdof”. Sefer Birchas Asher quotes the Rebbe, Rav Zushe as saying that the same applies to one who “pretends to be a tzadik.” Such a person will eventually become an actual tzadik.
