Basic Jewish Prayer Unveiled

Shema Yisrael: Hear O Israel! Moshe Rabbeinu has taught his people the Shema prayer which is expected to become a central part of Jewish prayer.

TNS prayer expert, Rabbi Dovid Daven, has learned that HaShem Almighty, CEO of Planet Earth, expects every Jew to say this prayer twice a day; and it should be one of the first things a baby learns to say and the last thing a Jew will utter before passing on from this world.

Israelites were seen all over the camp covering their eyes and reciting the opening verse with concentration. “Brilliant! It expresses the core of Jewish belief in HaShem in just six words,” said Mrs. Ani Ma’amin, who was seen singing the prayer with her children. “I’m going to make sure that my kids know it perfectly.”
