A Jew has a choice between two approaches:
- Making sure to keep the bare necessities of Jewish law, but in all other matters going along with the way of the world.
- Being above the world in all matters, because of one’s connection to G-d, and not “bowing down” to anything that is not service of G-d.
In previous times, the governments did not give Jews religious freedom. In our times, however, as we are so close to the Redemption through Moshiach, they not only give us freedom but even help us and demand of us to be in a state of Redemption! It’s only up to us to want to act strongly and proudly Jewish in all aspects of life, as many Jews are doing in many places in the world!
