A Punishment for Words:
On this topic, it occurred to me that this idea is hinted to in the pasuk (Esther 6:10) that states: “Let nothing fall (al tapeil davar) from all that you have spoken.” This can be understood as a hint that every “nefilah” (downfall) that a person experiences is a result of his speech.
