Humor in Novardok

R' Chaim Shmuelevitz was an Einikel of the Alter Zatzal, and he had lots of Novardok style humor. When he was at Rebbetzin Yoffen’s house and she baked some delicious cookies, he said: “It’s a pity to eat up such delicacies”. A Bachur once came to him on Purim, and imitated him. R' Chaim was rolling with laughter.

He once said (in jest): “When I get Siddur Kidushin, it warms my heart”. A Chashuva Novardoker was scheduled to give a Shiur in Mir Yeshiva on Shavuos night. He first asked: “Are the benches all packed?” “Yes!” “If so, it’s time to go. I love all that Kavod!”
