The following Seder preparations should be done before Shabbos:
- Roast the neck of a chicken for the zeroa.
- Boil eggs for the beitzah and shulchan orech.
- Grind horseradish for maror. Additionally, the lettuce should be checked for bugs and washed. The leaves that will be used for korech should be dried well, so they will not wet the matzah.
- Prepare charoses by blending apples, pears, and walnuts.
- The saltwater should ideally be prepared before Shabbos, as it may not be prepared (in its usual manner) on Yom Tov.
Before Shabbos, light a long-burning candle, from which the candles can be lit tomorrow night.
