We shouldn’t think that this guidance is solely for the purpose of encouraging ourselves in situations when we fall and get discouraged. Rather, we must know that this path of awakening our awareness of Hashem’s pride for us has the power to inspire true feelings of love and awe of Hashem in our hearts, even when we don’t have the ability to contemplate His greatness on a deep level.
When we renew ourselves to work hard on listening and remembering this foundation of chizuk—to think about the pleasure Hashem has from our avodah—not only do we become strong in the face of life’s challenges, but we also motivate ourselves to enter the realm kedushah. When we recall that the revelation of Hashem’s Kingship is dependent on every small, good deed that we do, we awaken true feelings of attachment to emunah in our hearts. We come to love and awe of Hashem, and we sanctify ourselves even when we are involved in material matters. This is the ultimate purpose of all chizuk.
