Jewish communities are now marking the day that G-d granted them complete forgiveness for worshipping the Golden Calf.
This anniversary celebration, called Yom Kippur, “Day of Forgiveness,” has several special observances. Remarkably not a morsel of food is eaten, nor a drop of liquid swallowed, by any Jewish man and woman. “You may have expected a lavish feast, just like most Jewish holidays,” reports Ben Adam, TNS human interest reporter. “But today is a celebration of the spirit and the Jews are compared to innocent angels, who don’t eat.”
