It can be said that this is also the reason why ‘Mitzvos’ are generally split into the two categories of ‘Mitzvos Aseh’ and ‘Mitzvos Loh Saseh’ which stem from the first two of the ‘Aseres Hadibros’ ‘Onochi Hashem’ and ‘Loh Yihiyeh Lecho’.

As the Possuk referring to Mitzvos states: מִימִינוֹ אֵש דָת לָמוֹ “From His right hand was a fiery Law for them” ‘Yemino’ represents the state of water and ‘Aish’ is the state of fire through performing Mitzvos which are a combination of water and fire a person will come to a state of רָצוֹא וָשוֹב which are the states of fire and water... which is the Torah ... the Mitzvah of ‘Poroh Adumah’ is this concept of רָצוֹא וָשוֹב with the רָצוֹא being the burning of the heifer and the שוֹב is the placing in the receptacle of spring water .... Even though in every Mitzvah there are these aspects of רָצוֹא וָשוֹב however it does not come in a clear and visible way like it does with the ‘Poroh Adumah’. That its whole purpose are these two aspects of רָ צוֹא וָשוֹב which is the ashes and the spring water. And that is why it is called Chukas Hatorah.

Mitzvos Aseh and Loh Saseh

The reason: The deeper reason from an inner dimension.

Mitzvos Aseh: Positive commandments- Instructions.

Mitzvos Loh Saseh: Prohibitions – Negative commandments.

Aseres Hadibros: Ten Commandments that were given to the B’nei Yisroel at Mount Sinai and were also inscribed on the Luchos.

Onochi Hashem: (Shmos 20:2) אָנֹכִי ה׳ אֱלֹקֶׁיךָ אֲשֶׁר הוֹצֵאתִיךָ מֵאֶׁרֶׁץ מִצְּרַּיִם מִבֵית עֲבָדִים “I am Hashem, your G-d, Who took you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage” This commandment tells us the Mitzvah of Emunah in Hashem.

Loh Yihiyeh Lecho: (Shmos 20:3) לֹא יִהְּיֶׁה־לְּךָ אֱלֹקִים אֲחֵרִ ים עַּל־פָּנַּי “You shall not have the G-ds of others in My presence” This is the Mitzvah of not worshiping idols.
