The last twelve days of the month of Elul, from the 18th of Elul (this year, Shabbos, Sep. 21) until just before Rosh Hashanah, each correspond to one of the months of the year. The whole month of Elul, and especially this time, is a special time to evaluate our service of G-d in the passing year and prepare for the coming year.
