Reb Chaim Vital ZY”A once exerted great energy to learn a difficult part of Torah. Afterwards, he walked into the Beis Medrash and heard a young child say the same conclusion of Torah He had worked so hard on. He went to his Rebbe The Ariza”l to report what transpired. The Ariza”l answered him that with his great effort he brought this chiddush (new idea) of Torah onto the world. Now even a young child can attain it.
Rav Uri “The Sorof” (fire) of Strelisk ZY”A, was a Talmud (student) of his great Rebbe Reb Shloima Karliner ZY”A. He followed in his path, especially through “Avodas HaTefilloh” (observance of Prayer with depth and enthusiasm). Once Reb Shloima Karliners brother-in-law, Reb Mendel of Kossov ZY”A, visited, and observed that the level of poverty was great among Reb Shloima’s Chasidim (followers). This dismayed him, to which prompted Reb Mendel to ask Reb Shloima, why he does not be Mashpia Parnossoh (attain livelihood) to his Chassidim? Reb Shloima reacted by calling over one of his Chasidim and questioned him as follows. What do you want (to attain)? To which the Chossid answered “I want the Rebbes – Boruch Sheh’omar” which was said by his Rebbe with great length and fervor. Reb Shloima turned to his Shvoger Reb Mendel and conveyed “You see what they want.”
