Having Bizayon L'chavod Shamayim Is Major Greatness

Bitachon Weekly | June 28, 2026

Notice the striking resemblance between Eliyahu HaNavi and Dovid HaMelech. Both were Moser Nefesh for Kavod Shamayim and were M'vazeh themselves. They said about Pinchos: “Who are you to be a Kano'i? Your Zeide, Yisro fattened cows for Avoda Zara!” And Dovid danced a bit wild before the Aron, and his wife Michal was embarrassed from his behavior. He defended himself saying that he was proud to have Bizayon L'chavod Shamayim; and in the end, Michal had no children from him because she was against his behavior. We see that having Bizayon L'chavod Shamayim is major! And Pinchos was Zoche to super greatness because of this (הִנְנִי נֹתֵן לוֹ אֶת בְּרִיתִי ׁשָלוֹם).

If you want to have Bizayon L'chavod Shamayim, I recommend taking off your glasses when walking in the street, hoping they’ll call you a “frumie”. Or you can try public speaking, which in Novardok was considered being Mafkir your Kavod and not being afraid of humans. “Only Hashem we fear”.
