The word: אִּ שֽׁ ה (fire) is all over the Parsha of Korbanos. To destroy your Yetzer Hara and the: בְּ ה מִּ י animalistic part of you, it is very hard unless you have a fire in you. When you have a fire, you feel plenty “full” and happy, and you don’t feel like you’re missing anything. I recommend plenty of Tefila, since Hashem can put you on-fire, and then it becomes very easy to overcome the worst addictions.
The worst Baal Ta'ava can Davka become the biggest Tzaddik; don’t be Mya'esh! Tefila can do ANYTHING, if you persist! The Meforshim say that when Yehuda felt like he had an unusual Ta'ava, he realized that he would be Zoche to great things, and Gevaldige Tzaddikim (Malchus Bais Dovid) would come out of this. Look how he wasn’t Nis'pael from his “scary” Yetzer Hara. Aderaba! He saw only good!
Someone said “Davka me, the professional addictive bum, will do great things for Klal Yisroel”. “And sometimes my tiny improvement, or not giving up, my futile and half-hearted attempt that didn’t even last, can bring the biggest Yeshuos”. Believe in the Ma'ala of a: דַ ל גֽׁ אֶּ ה פסחים קיג ב penniless Baal Ga'ava, חֻ צ פ א יִּ ס גֽׁ י inflated chutzpa, and: י חִּ יד שֶּ ע ש ה ת שוּב ה מוֹחֲ לִּ ין ל כ ל ה עוֹל ם כּוּלוֹ יומא פו ב Even if just ONE person does Teshuva, the entire world is forgiven.
TRUE STORY
Fifteen years ago, a Yungerman from Venezuela was having terrible problems with one of his sons. The whole family was petrified of this son, and he persecuted everyone. When he entered the home, all family members would disappear and hide. I told him that Davka this boy would be his biggest Nachas. Four years later he told me that this is exactly what happened. The family can’t wait till he comes home, because he is so nice to everybody!
