A Warm Tefillah

The Gemara (Brachos 34B) relates that Rebbe Chanina ben Dosa said, “If my prayers are shagurah (fluent) in my mouth, I know they have been accepted.” Sefer Avnei Zikaron quotes the Chozeh of Lublin zy”a as explaining that the word “shagurah” can mean to light a fire (as in “shagra tanura”, to light an oven). This indicates that tefillah must be with warmth in order for it to be accepted by Hashem.
