In this week’s Torah portion, the Ten Commandments are repeated. The fact that they are doubled shows that the Torah is unlimited. Double represents multiplying infinitely. The ultimate revelation of the unlimited Torah will be in the Redemption through Moshiach.
The Haftorah, which we read after the Torah portion, begins “Nachamu Nachamu” – “comfort, comfort”. It is the first of seven weeks of Haftorahs of comfort after Tishah B’Av. The doubling of the word comfort shows that the comfort over the destruction of the first and second Beis Hamikdash – the Redemption through Moshiach and the building of the third Beis Hamikdash – is unlimited, transcending both the first and second Beis Hamikdash and also including the advantages of each.
