Besides the elevation of Shabbos (as mentioned above in both categories) Shabbos itself also has a Hamshocha from above to below. [This does not contradict] that which was said earlier (Chapter 2) that Shabbos is an Ascent above and not a descent below [as this] is only referring to the descent for the Avodah of Birurim and that a descent is [consequently] not possible on Shabbos and yet there is on Shabbos itself a Hamshocha of Supernal Divine pleasure which is triggered by one’s Avodah during the days of the week and is revealed when it becomes illuminated during Shabbos.
As the Alter Rebbe has explained in Likkutei Torah in the Maamor with the opening words רְאוּ כִי ה׳ נָּתַן לָּכֶׁם הַשַבָּת regarding the Two Shabbosim that need to be kept according to the laws of Shabbos [for Moshiach to come] that they represent two types of progression which occur on Shabbos; both, going from below to above which is the aspect of ascent and also going from above to below which is the aspect of revelation and Hamshocha of the Supernal Divine pleasure below.
