The Geulah Depends on Teshuva

Sefer Divrei Yisroel writes a remez that is seen from the names of the Parshios “Mikeitz Vayigash Vayechi.”

The Gemara (Sanhedrin 97B) states: “All the designated end times (kitzin) have past, and now everything (the geulah) depends on teshuva.” This is hinted to in these words, which can be translated to mean: “Vayehi mikeitz” – when it appears like all the designated times for the redemption have passed. “Vayigash eilav” – the solution is to approach Hashem with teshuva. “Vayechi” – if we do this, we shall be able to live properly.

וַיְ חִ י יַעֲקֹ ב בְּ אֶ רֶ ץ מִ צְ רַ יִ ם שְׁ בַ ע עֶ שְׂ רֵ ה שָׁ נָה וגו' (מז, כח)

And Yaakov lived in the land of Egypt for 17 years... (47:28)
