We must believe in the immense tikunim that a tzaddik performs for a person who travels to visit him. As discussed at length in this lesson of Likutei Mohoran, the tzaddik elevates our souls, transforms us into vehicles for Hashem in the world, and much more.
In addition, we must have emunah that coming close to tzaddikim and learning their sefarim is not a plain thing. Rather, it is a tremendous avodah that completely renews our souls.
Thus, it is essential to speak with one another and remind each other that even if it appears to us as if we have made no progress at all and it is impossible for us to start over and forget about the past, nonetheless, through the immense power of the tzaddik to elevate our souls, we can be completely refreshed and renewed.
The more we strengthen our emunah in the power of the tzaddikim to rectify our souls, the more we can escape our despair and emptiness in avodas Hashem. We must know that there is incredible light in the Torah of the tzaddik. His words never get old. Rather, they are constantly drawn down from the higher worlds with new illumination. When we remember this, we can receive the true advice of the tzaddik in our lives.
