This Ma’amer of the Rebbe, titled Shuva Yisroel-Shabbos Teshuva 5737, is a continuation of an earlier Shuva Yisroel Ma’amer said on Vov Tishrei the Yartziet of the Rebbe’s mother, Rebbetzin Chanaa”h on the Thursday beforehand. Rebbetzin Chanaa”h passed away on Vov Tishrei, Shabbos Teshuva in 1964-5725. This year 5785 will be her 60th Yartziet zy”a.
Regarding these two Shuva Yisroel Ma’amarim they were published in two separate Kuntrosim-booklets in the year 5750, which marked twenty-five years from her passing. Additionally, of note, both Ma’amarim were edited by the Rebbe himself. The first Kuntres, titled Kuntres Vov Tishrei 5750, was published on Thursday, Vov Tishrei 5750. The second is titled Shabbos Teshuva-Motzei Yom Kippur 5750, and was published on Friday, Erev Shabbos Shuva 5750. Both of these Ma’amarim are a continuation of each other and discuss the concept of Teshuva. Thus it helps to study them in order for a better understanding of the concepts elucidated in them, however, they can too be studied independently as well.
