Doing Mitzvos With Enthusiasm

The Gemara (Sanhedrin 74A) states: “’V’chai bahem. And live by them’ – and not die by them.” Rav Moshe of Kobrin zy”a explains this to mean that all of one’s Torah and mitzvos should be with “chiyus”, enthusiasm. One should not “die with them”, meaning that Torah and mitzvos should not be lifeless and unenthusiastic.
