Tzedakah Protects From All Sins:

On the topic of tzedakah, the author of Sefer Shevet Mussar zt”l writes in his Sefer Me’il Tzedakah (Siman 1542): “I heard in the name of chachmei hakaballah that there is no ‘garment’ like tzedakah that has the ability to protect from all sins, even idol worship and immoral relationships. Tzedakah is a garment that protects like a shield from all accusations and from damaging angels. And Hashem hides one who gives tzedakah under His wings from the midas hadin.”
