What Seems to You the Biggest Mitzva May Be the Source of All Your Problems

Bitachon Weekly | June 25, 2025

Chazal say that the double “Bais” in the word: ל ב ב ךָ (your heart) means: ב ש נ י י צ רֶיךָ (to serve Hashem with) both your Yetzer Tov and Yetzer Hara, and in this Parsha the Torah is always saying ל ב ב ךָ and not: ל בְּךָ (i.e., one “Bais”). A clear message: You have to use your Yetzer Hara in Avodas Hashem.

When You Have Rebbe You Follow, You End Up Going in The Derech HaYashar

STORY
A certain family was always having all kinds of Tzaros, since they were loaded with constant worry about their sins, and how Hashem is punishing them. All they talk about is their guilt and the Ayin Hara’s in their lives. All they talk about is getting fancy Shiduchim with an Adam Gadol, and their kids aren’t getting married, Rachmana Litzlan. They were loaded with real “Fruma Yetzer Hara’s” ...

The Rav whom they went-to realized this, and he told them that they have to regard him as a “non-frum bum” and accept whatever he says (like Chazal say: Yiftach in his generation is like Shmuel in his generation), or else he won’t deal with them (otherwise they wouldn’t listen to his “non-frum” advice). He saved their lives. In the minds of such people, you aren’t allowed to make mistakes; you must be a Malach! And the kids suffer terribly from such a ‘tight ship’.

The Yetzer Hara is tricky, and what you think is the biggest Mitzva might be the source of all your bad Mazal! When you have Rebbe whom you follow, you end up going in the Derech HaYashar.
