The Pleasure of an Authentic Heart

Havineini | December 10, 2025

This Yid won’t even be tempted to speak ill of others... because he will remember that he once did so, and he couldn’t daven properly afterward. He doesn’t want to forfeit his kirvas Elokim over some lashon hara. He wants to be able to approach the Ribbono shel Olam directly and personally. He desires that feeling of utter reliance—and he knows that he has no power or ability of his own. This Yid always lives with the feeling that if the Ribbono shel Olam doesn’t help him, he will be completely lost. He approaches davening with this attitude—and obviously, this transforms his problems into a vehicle for closeness.

He holds onto the Ribbono shel Olam and cries out, “Help me! The nisyonos and challenges are everywhere, threatening to swallow me whole. I want to live with You!” It is the ratzon Hashem for every Yid to live with such a pure heart of Yerushalayim.

It is such a true and authentic life. It will so consume a person with pleasure that he won’t even contemplate acting in ways that will distance him from his Creator, because he doesn’t want to forfeit the pleasure of kirvas Elokim.
