The yetzer hara wants us to feel alone, and to become depressed by our loneliness. But the opposite is true! The Ribbono shel Olam gave us the gift of solitude so that we will be able to encounter Him in the most intimate way and to develop deep feelings of love and intimacy.
Of course, when a Yid has true good friends, and there exists true love between them, this doesn’t detract from their kirvas Elokim—to the contrary; when Yiddishe kinder sit together with love, this brings even greater closeness to the Ribbono shel Olam. This is when the neshamah is opened... and our greatest wish is to close our eyes and speak to the Ribbono shel Olam. Likeminded ehrliche friends only encourage us to find closeness with Hashem.
