The Powers of the Gabbai

Rav Mordechai Chaim of Slonim zy”a (Sipurei Maran HaRamach) relates that the Apta Rov zy”a once spent Shabbos with Rav Mendele of Rimanov zy”a. Before the recitation of Keser during Kedusha, the Apta Rov walked out of the bais medrash. When he returned, he was standing next to the door when he heard a man reciting Keser in an extremely enthusiastic way, and he was very impressed.

During the tish, he saw the same man passing out the bulkas. He said, “It is no wonder that Rav Mendele is so great if he has a Gabbai like this!”
