Opening the Heavens:
The Rashab of Lubavitch zy”a related: “When I was a child, my father (the Maharash of Lubavitch zy”a) took me and my brother, Rav Shneur Zalman Aharon (the Raza), to my grandfather (the Tzemach Tzedek zy”a) on the seventh day of Pesach. My grandfather was sitting on the couch, with his head bent down because of his exhaustion. He told us, “Kinderlach, all of the Heavens are open today. Hashem is revealed to us in all His glory.”
When he finished speaking, lightning flashed and thunder crashed. The Rashab related, “I remember the impression that was made upon me. I felt like this was the sound of the Heavens literally opening. (It was uncommon to have thunder and lightning on Pesach in Lubavitch.) That impression has never left me. It remains etched in my heart until today.”
