For Every Goodness
The same applies to every one of the berachos we recite throughout the day. When we see a person who’s suffering from illness, our יצר אשר should be transformed. We begin to realize that it isn’t simple.... We internalize the reality that the Ribbono shel Olam is so good and kind to us—and this brings us excitement.
When we speak about meditating on the good and the chasdei Hashem, it is important to note that one goodness has nothing to do with the other. A person may say, “Yes, I have wonderful things in one area of life—and the ensuing goodness is an automatic byproduct....” But the truth is that nothing should be taken for granted. Each and every blessing is a goodness in and of itself!
