The Role of Human Avodah and the Purpose of the Mishkon

However, this all relates to the Mishkon itself, but there needs to be an Avodah from the human and that is why the Possuk states: אָדָם כִּי יַקְרִּיב מִּכֶם קָרְבָן לַה׳ “When a man from [among] you, brings a sacrifice to HaShem.”

In addition to that which the Mishkon served as a dwelling place for the Divine presence as the Possuk states: וְעָשׂוּ לִּי מִּקְדָש וְשָכַנְתִּי בְתוֹכָם “They shall make for Me a sanctuary and I will dwell in them”, the RaMBaM writes about another aspect regarding the Beis HaMikdosh: מִּצְוַת עֲשֵּׂה לַעֲשׂוֹת בַיִּת לַה' מוּכָן לִּהְיוֹת מַקְרִּיבִּים בוֹ הַקָרְבָנוֹת. “It is a positive obligation to build a house for HaShem where offerings may be brought.”
