מהר"י שטייף – 33:12-14
“נסעה ונלכה...הילדים רכים...עד אשר אבוא אל אדוני שעירה” – “Travel on and let us go...the children are tender...until I come to my lord at Seir.” The Midrash says that Yaakov Avinu seemed to say that he would go to Eisav at Seir, yet we do not see that anytime in his life that he went to Eisav in Seir. We know that Yaakov Avinu was the paradigm of truth, so how could he have not fulfilled his word? Yaakov Avinu will go to Eisav in Seir, Le’asid Lavo. This will happen in the future, when Mashiach comes, as the Posuk in Ovadiah 1:21 says, “ועלו מושעים בהר ציון לשפוט את הר עשו” – “Liberators shall march up on Mount Tziyon to wreak judgement on Mount Eisav.” Le’asid Lavo there will be an abundance of Geirim. Yaakov Avinu understood that it was nowhere near the time of the קץ, the time of Le’asid Lavo, and, “הילדים רכים” – the children were still young in years. It will only be when all will recognize the dominion of Hakodosh Boruch Hu over the world, “והיתה לד' המלוכה” – when the Malchus of Hakodosh Boruch Hu will be recognized throughout the world, that is when Yaakov Avinu will go to Eisav in Seir. Yaakov Avinu recognized that being close to Eisav would only be bad for him and his descendants. Yaakov Avinu said, “והילדים רכים” Yaakov Avinu recognized that his children were weak – meaning that they needed to be protected from outside influences, and thus they needed to stay away from Eisav. It is only when Moshiach will IYH come, Bimheira B’yameinu, that Klal Yisroel will be strong enough and can then be with Eisav.
