Finding What Your Heart Loves

So many people walk around making proclamations about this or that... “It doesn’t work... I don’t believe in these things.” Why don’t you believe? Because you tried it already, and it didn’t have the desired effect?! Just as the Ohr HaChaim says, they hurl accusations at the Torah, stating that it doesn’t deliver the promised benefits. But when we dig deeper and we investigate, we find that they never properly connected with the Torah.

Chazal tell us, תורה למקום גולה הוי, one must exile to a place of Torah (Avos 4:14). This also means that a person must go from one area in Torah to the next, searching for the Torah that speaks to him, the aspect of Torah with which he can connect.
