The Magid of Trisk would often speak cryptically and cite ramazim about the imminent coming of Moshiach. His brother, Rav Yitzchok of Skver zy”a, once told him, “I heard that you say hints regarding when Moshiach will come.”

The Magid replied, “I don’t say anything. I just open a Chumash and immediately see written on the page that Moshiach must come. I say to Hashem: It says in Your Torah that the time for Moshiach’s arrival has arrived (see Kiddushin 32A).”

His brother told him, “In our times, we don’t even need to open a Chumash. All one has to do is open the heart of a Yid and one can see that Moshiach needs to come immediately.”
