Questions To Rabbi Mandel

Bitachon Weekly | June 25, 2025

I’m Working Very Hard, And Still Not Making It

Question: Dear Rabbi Mandel, thank you so much for all the amazing shiurim. I enjoy every minute!!! Your shiurim keep me filled with Bitachon and laughter.
I really need a Yeshua when it comes to Parnasa. Baruch Hashem, I'm happily married with 7 beautiful kids, I live in Eretz Yisroel. Ever since covid, I've been having a rough time with Parnasa. My debt is growing bigger and bigger, and I'm not managing to pay my bills. I've had to receive assistance from the Tzedaka fund a number of times. Myself and my wife work very hard. I have full-time jobs; my wife works half-day (plus side jobs), and runs a Gevaldige Jewish home.
I've tried all sorts of Segulos. I say Parshas HaMon every day, extend Havdalah, add the Parnasa Tefila in Shmoneh Esrei. What else should I do?
Please advise, and please give me a big Bracha.
Kol Tuv

Answer: Poor guy, I don't know what to tell him. Listen, don't work so hard. Be Somech (rely) on the Eibishter, that's number one. And relax every day. How much do you owe? How bad is it, really? Don't worry about it.
Look, you're going to do the best you can. Are the kids still in school? Are they shutting off the water? They're not. Do you have what to eat? You do. Don't let this stuff sit on you. Whatever happens, you do your best.
Don't overwork either. Overwork is not good. Don't think you’re helping things. Work less. And during that time, have Bitachon. Sit back and say: “Eibishter, you'll take care of me”. The less you worry, the better it is.
